Recently, the integrated hydrogen production and refueling solution developed and manufactured by Trina Green Hydrogen successfully passed strict Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at the company’s Yangzhou production base and is now ready for shipment to Portugal. The contract, commercial development, and project coordination for the Portuguese market was led by Trina Hydrogen (Spain), the company’s Spanish subsidiary and European headquarters. This milestone further reinforces the confidence of European customers in Trina Green Hydrogen’s technology, execution capabilities, and long-term commitment to the region.

The delivered system is an integrated hydrogen refueling station solution based on a 100 Nm³/h alkaline electrolyzer. As one of the flagship products supporting the company’s European expansion, the solution features a modular and containerized design. It integrates all key components into a standardized platform, including the alkaline electrolyzer, gas-liquid separators, purification and drying systems, 50 MPa compression units, hydrogen storage, and intelligent control systems.
The product has been designed for factory prefabrication, plug-and-play operation, and rapid deployment. Compared to conventional installations, it reduces on-site civil engineering works by more than 60% and shortens delivery timelines by approximately 50%, efficiently responding to Europe’s growing demand for hydrogen refueling infrastructure. A single system can produce up to 200 kg of hydrogen per day, enough to supply approximately 500 fuel cell passenger vehicles or 50 heavy-duty trucks, while fully aligning with the objectives of the European Union’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).

Previously, Trina Green Hydrogen’s first integrated hydrogen refueling station was successfully deployed as part of a national hydrogen infrastructure demonstration project promoted by the Portuguese government. The system has demonstrated stable and reliable operation with outstanding performance, receiving highly positive feedback from European stakeholders and customers. This second-generation unit incorporates several technical optimizations based on operational experience from the first installation and has obtained certifications from Germany’s DEKRA and Bureau Veritas (BV), fully complying with Europe’s demanding safety and technical standards.
Equipped with Trina Green Hydrogen’s proprietary intelligent collaborative control platform, the system enables fully automated operation and remote monitoring across the entire hydrogen production, storage, and refueling process, combining operational efficiency with high safety standards.
Since entering the European market, the company has accelerated its localization strategy through its Madrid-based European hub. Spain is expected to play a strategic role as Trina Green Hydrogen’s industrial and commercial springboard into Europe, leveraging the country’s renewable energy potential, growing hydrogen ecosystem, and strategic geographic position.
From the deployment of the Portuguese hydrogen refueling station project to the ongoing development of the 160 MW green hydrogen project in Spain, Trina Green Hydrogen has progressively established a European value chain covering project development, equipment delivery, execution, and long-term operation and maintenance services.
As Europe accelerates its energy transition and the hydrogen sector enters a phase of rapid industrial growth, Trina Green Hydrogen continues strengthening its position in the European market through advanced electrolysis technologies, integrated solutions, and efficient global delivery capabilities.
Following the successful delivery of this unit to Portugal, four additional integrated hydrogen refueling station orders for the European market are already underway and are expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
