Trina Green Hydrogen wins bid for China's first multi technology fusion green hydrogen scale application benchmark project

Date:2025.02.28

On February 24th, Shaanxi Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shaanxi Hydrogen") officially announced the procurement project of key equipment for electrolytic water hydrogen production in Yulin Zero Carbon Industrial Park Hydrogen Energy (Hydrogen Production) Demonstration Project. Trina Green Hydrogen successfully won the bid for the second section and will provide the project with a complete hydrogen production system including a 1000Nm ³/h alkaline electrolysis tank, gas-liquid separation, and purification framework.

Tianqing's second-generation products lead in performance

Since the launch of the Tianqing series alkaline hydrogen production equipment in 2023, Trina Green Hydrogen has won multiple commercial orders. With the completion and production of the Yangzhou production base in October 2024, the second-generation products of Tianqing will also be taken offline. In actual testing projects, its performance has been widely praised.

The second-generation product adopts an innovative third-generation diaphragm, a new electrode structure, and structural improvement design. Produced on an intelligent fully automated production line, the current density is increased by 30% compared to the first generation, the volume is reduced by 23%, and the weight is reduced by 18%. It has a hydrogen production capacity with a wide power fluctuation of 30% -110%, which can better couple with new energy generation. Through unique modular design and framework product structure, the product has higher adaptability and flexibility, can meet the needs of multi scenario applications, support large-scale and rapid deployment, and reduce equipment investment by 30% in comprehensive situations, laying a solid foundation for large-scale green hydrogen production.

Shanxi builds hydrogen energy benchmark project

The equipment tendered this time will be used for the first phase of the Yulin Zero Carbon Industrial Park Hydrogen Energy (Hydrogen Production) Demonstration Project, covering 5 sections, including 3 sets of 1000Nm ³/h alkaline electrolysis cells and 2 sets of 500Nm ³/h PEM electrolysis cells, with a total scale of 4000Nm ³/h. The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2025, with an estimated annual production of 3000 tons of green hydrogen.

The Yulin Zero Carbon Industrial Park project covers a total area of about 300 acres, with a planned total investment of about 20.5 billion yuan. After full completion, it can produce 100000 tons of green hydrogen annually. The project relies on high-quality wind and solar resources in Yulin City, integrates multi-path hydrogen production technologies such as alkaline electrolyzed water (ALK), proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzed water, and solid oxide electrolyzed water (SOEC), and constructs a demonstration system for the entire industry chain of "green electricity hydrogen production, transportation hydrogen, and chemical hydrogen". It is the first multi technology integrated green hydrogen large-scale application benchmark project in China. After the completion of the project, it will not only provide a sample for the low-carbon transformation of high energy consuming industries in Northwest China, but also drive the agglomeration and development of upstream and downstream industrial chains such as electrolytic cells and fuel cells.

Accelerate the layout of the global market

In the future, Trina Green Hydrogen will continue to make efforts to create high-quality products, while also leveraging its "integrated light hydrogen storage" solution capabilities. Relying on the world's leading production and manufacturing base, it will deeply explore the large-scale application of green hydrogen, promote equipment cost reduction and efficiency improvement through technological iteration, accelerate the layout of domestic and international hydrogen energy markets, and promote the rapid development of the global green hydrogen industry.
